On 21.11.2024, the Smart Learning Factory – Skopje, together with MAMEI (Macedonian Association of Metal & Electrical Industry) and EIT Community RIS Hub – North Macedonia hosted and organized the event “Mapping the opportunities through EIT Manufacturing, in collaboration with international consortia”.
Representatives from the Macedonian manufacturing industry attended this event. They were reacquainted with the activities of MAMEI, which was presented by Marta Naumovska Grnarova. She stressed out the importance of having joint activities in a small country like ours and called out for increased involvement of the companies in the future activities of MAMEI.
Nikola Ognenovski presented the role of the EIT Community RIS Hub – North Macedonia and especially the calls under the EIT-Manufacturing. The opportunities for future projects were put in a general perspective, but the companies need to dive a little bit deeper and find the most suitable project call for them. EIT-Manufacturing constantly opens new calls and the RIS Hub is the place where they can find all the latest information.
Bojan Jovanoski from the Smart Learning Factory – Skopje presented their success stories in applying for EIT-Manufacturing projects and the current activities that are being undertaken. They are currently running the project AISkills4Lean (AI Skills for enhancing Lean Manufacturing 4.0) together with TU Wien, Austria, TU Sofia, Bulgaria and Fitofarm Plus, North Macedonia. Different online trainings for Artificial Intelligence, Lean 4.0 and Voice Assistant Systems are foreseen. Throughout the event, but especially at the end, numerous discussions took place. Al of them targeted the types of challenges that the Macedonian companies are facing as well as their ideas for more innovative manufacturing surrounding.
